The lake is a main recreational spot in Spring Arbor Township for both residents and non-residents of our township for swimming, boating and fishing as we all know. However there has been an increase in disorderly behavior, vandalism to the grass, dogs off leashes and illegal dumping. The Spring Arbor Township Police Department has been asked by the County of Jackson Parks Department to assist in curtailing these undesirable activities. Both boat launch parking lots and the area of the lake is under video surveillance to assist in this effort for enforcement action. Should you see any behavior or activity that needs police intervention and need a police response or want remain anonymous, call 911 and an officer will be dispatched. We will be reviewing the video surveillance as needed. Lime Lake is “OPEN” daily from dawn-dusk, please review the posted park rules. We want everyone to have an enjoyable and safe summer at Lime Lake, we are just asking for it to be done in a courteous and respectful manner to other people and the lake property. Thank You, Chief Howard Keith Noppe Spring Arbor Township Ranks #5 among the top 20 safest cities in Michigan! read the full report VOTE 2020 Election Information March 10, 2020 – Presidential Primary August 4, 2020 – Primary Election November 3, 2020 – General Election The Clerk’s office will be open from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. the Saturday before each election (March 7, August 1, & October 31). more election information Local Road Millage Press Release September 19, 2019 We are pleased to announce that the Road Millage of 3.99 mills will be reduced to 3.25 mills on the December Winter Tax Statement. In 2017 the voters of Spring Arbor Township approved a Local Road Millage of 3.99 mills to rebuild all “LOCAL” public roads in the township. Working with JCDOT we were able to realize lower than expected construction costs, in part by starting this project in 2017. The entire project will be completed in 2020. Additionally, working with local financial partners, the Township was able to invest the bond proceeds at higher than expected interest rates. From the beginning, we promised we would prudently manage the project so that we could provide maximum value and savings to our people. This millage rate reduction will be realized on the December 2019 Winter Tax Statement. The project remains on schedule and we expect several more roads to be completed yet this fall.
